Completed in 1899, Garcelon is the home of Bates football and men's and women's lacrosse. The Bates men's and women's soccer teams as well as a number of Bobcat club and intramural teams also compete on the field.
Garcelon ranks among the 10 most historic fields in college football. Garcelon received a major facelift in 2010, including a new FieldTurf surface, Musco lights, grandstand, press box, and scoreboard. The original turf was replaced in 2023 with a brand-new surface.
Garcelon Field is on the left, past Alumni Gym. Parking is available on Central Ave. or in the Russell St. Lot.
